IATF 16949
The maintenance evidence an IATF 16949 audit asks for
Clause 8.5.1.5 asks for a documented, planned maintenance system with objectives you measure. Mesonify certifies nobody. What it does is produce the records that show the system runs: the plan, what actually happened, who did it, and what was on the shelf at the time.
What the standard asks of maintenance
- A documented maintenance system for the equipment that keeps production capable, holding the minimum steps that keep it producing to specification over its working life.
- Planned preventive maintenance, with predictive methods where they suit the equipment.
- Periodic overhaul: taking equipment out of service on purpose, on the evidence of its fault and interruption history, before a major unplanned breakdown.
- Replacement parts available for the equipment production depends on.
- Maintenance objectives that are documented, measured and reviewed.
What an auditor asks to see
- The plan, and evidence that the work in it happened on the dates it said.
- The full history of one machine the auditor points at, without a search through folders.
- Who did the work, when, what was replaced, and whether the check afterwards passed.
- The parts held for key equipment, and what happens when a level runs low.
- The objectives, with the numbers behind them for a period, not an assertion.
Where that evidence comes from
The asset and its history
Devices holds master data, documents, photos and structure down to the component, with every job the machine has ever carried.
DevicesThe maintenance plan
Schedules generate the work ahead of its deadline, inside a tolerance window, planned from the last deadline or from actual completion.
SchedulesPredictive and condition-based work
Rules watch a tracked value and raise the job when it crosses your limit. Devices with enough recorded failures carry a downtime probability per day.
RulesProof the work was done properly
Events move from new to assigned to completed to checked, with checklists, required photos, the parts used and a printable protocol.
EventsSpare parts for key equipment
Inventory holds a minimum and a low threshold per part, raises a purchase request on its own below the minimum, and records every movement with quantity and value.
InventoryThe objectives, measured
Dashboard carries MTBF, MTTR, mean work time, mean idle time, completion against deadline and Pareto over classifications, for any period, device, group or location.
